The perfectly folded dress shirt

Though it may look like a daunting task, folding a dress shirt is actually very simple and easy. One just have to know what to do to the understand the steps. In many ways, folding a dress shirt is just like any task - it may look difficult at first, but practice always makes perfect. And doing it often will have you doing it like it's your second nature to fold.

There are many types of dress shirts for men, but these simple steps in folding them perfectly will work for all of them. In fact, with some dress shirts, you might not need to utilize all of these techniques. So follow them to the letter and be on your way to the perfectly folded dress shirt every time.

When folding a dress shirt, the main goal is to minimize the wrinkles while making the smallest reasonable footprint for the shirt so that it's more convenient to put in a cabinet or luggage. This will let you fit as many dress shirts as possible into the small spaces you have, even in a suitcase.

First, make sure that all buttons of your dress shirt is fastened. Or at least, every other one. Next, grip the dress shirt by the shoulders and lay it down with the buttons against the flat surface. Make sure everything is laid down properly with no creases and folding in the wrong places. By this time, the sleeves of the dress shirt should be in the shape of the letter "T". You then take one sleeve and fold it in so that it lies on top of the other sleeve. Be sure to bring about one-fourth of the shirt body along as you fold. Follow it down to the hem of the dress shirt, and them make a diagonal fold at the shoulder. Repeat this process for the other sleeve. When making the initial fold onto the shirt, you will have to imagine that the other sleeve is still part of the original "T". Be sure that any overlap between the sleeves or the shirt body is at a minimum. Then press down on the dress shirt to force out any air pockets and wrinkles. Lastly, check for any other creases and wrinkles before finally flattening it for the last time.

With this method, not only are you sure that wrinkles will be at the minimum, or even none, when you wear your dress shirt, it is now one-sixth of its original size laid down on a flat surface. Thus making it ready to be stored away or packed. So no matter where you put it, you are sure that you are saving lots of drawer or suitcase spaces.

Just practice the above steps to be able to get the hang of folding the perfect dress shirts. Looking sharper on your favorite men's dress shirt have never been this easy.
